Connecting a couple more dots, some that surprised me ... pulmonary embolism (PE) is a clot (thrombus) that started elsewhere, got stuck in a lung artery. Reading VAERS reports it became clear that it is well-known by medical staff that birth control pills can result in a PE, and women who take those pills are aware of the risk too. Looking it up, only the pills containing Drospirenone. Looking that up, it involves a progesterone receptor, Looking that up, gonacon does too.

Suppressing menstruation, aborts fetuses etc, hmm, where else have I heard that, affecting sperm also?

Seems could be useful if one happens to be an elite controlling trillions who believes Earth is in danger from our 385,000 new babies per day and is wanting to save the planet. But if only people were naive enough to buy into some sort of a scare to be able to enable a delivery system, the floor is open to suggestions.

As a starting point for brushing up on the topic, https://archive.ph/HlYxx isn't too shabby, Figure 1 is worth expanding with a click, the article has some information on pzp (depending on the species often 2 shots 3 weeks apart) and gonacon (single injection targeting GnRH), both requiring boosters about every 6 months (again depending on the species), together successful in over 80 mammals for over 20 years. However humans consume a wide range of food and drink that wild or zoo mammals don't, so those approaches can't be used without risk of adverse reactions, something could go wrong, so maybe just forget I mentioned it. Or not.

If there's anything to it, then perhaps the best way to address it is to have a calm discussion over whether Earth is best off with 12 or 20 billion people, or worse. Population growth is a hot topic that raises emotions unfortunately, one might say a ... radioactive topic.

There are already 422 operating nuclear power plants in the world (92 in USA), it is the safest and cleanest form of energy, no CO2 (for those who fear that), rumor has it that China plans to build 450.

Copious energy makes humans proliferate. And perhaps some people don't want that. But I would be curious to hear their reasons as they appear to be determined and serious about it. Personally if I'm them I'd just offer gift cards for voluntary vasectomies problem solved.
