What is up with OpenVAERS's Goofy ICAN lot# Analysis?
I was excited to see the data myself and wanted to spot check OpenVAERS check it out. I went to some of memorized lot#s and low and behold OpenVAERS is way off!! I won’t no how far off the mark, nor do I care. I will move this project up my to do list and report back ASAP. Sorry Liz, you are going to need to go back to the drawing board but welcome to the lot# analysis and lot look-up environment. We got Craig Paardekooper at howbadisyoutbatch.com, myself, and now openvaers.com (almost).
I only spot checked about 5 lots but that was enough. One lot 022M20A seemed to be ok but the other ones were off and basically overcounted by a unacceptable amount. I’m not sure if the folks at OpenVAERS are ethically cleansing their lots, I would hope that they are, but that still does not account for the over counting? I went to ICAN’s new data thinking there might be something in there but ICAN’s data has no adverse event level date, just lot#s, doses shipped, and zip codes to where delivered like last time. I’m sure when I sink everything up I’ll figure out what is actually “new” about this data than before? One thing is for sure, OpenVAERS isn’t passing my sniff test. Sorry Liz, I’m sure you and your peeps will get to the bottom of it. Please don’t let anyone run around with their hair on fire based on this data. At least not yet.

So what’s up with OpenVAERS interpretation of lot# 032H20A?
Among other things, it’s 45 DEATHS, NOT 439 DEATHS as OpenVAERS reports.
What’s up with lot# 026A21A?
It’s 120 DEATHS or 122 DEATHS if you fix some typos. Not 146 DEATHS as OpenVAERS reports.

I really struggled understanding what ICAN were doing tbh, I was surprised by some of their choices and presentation styles and probably still don't understand it. Your gonna shoot me though! I had a look at 032H20A, and I think it's the number of deaths per million doses? There were 98,000 doses for that batch. Their presentation is the pits.
Does that include Foreign Reports?
