On a personal note, I found out more than a month ago from a personal friend in the limo business, that some Chinese VIP was coming to SF and this limo company was looking for 300 limo drivers for this event. I didn’t know any details but I joked and said is that Xi Ping-Pong guy coming to town or what?
I kick myself for not putting out a blurb about it back then, but I didn’t think it would be President Ping-Pong himself and our cardboard cut-out President too? Shiiiieee Lemon follow the puppet strings, I’m sure Barack and Michael won’t be far away.
I would have considered driving for a few days but the whole China thing made me decline the offer. No worries, I know a few people in that detail so I’m sure I’ll get some deets! God Bless
After the current US President came to give a weekday speech in June 2023 at Palo Alto's Baylands, he went by limo to two daylight fundraisers, first in west Atherton (politician Westley's home) and then Saratoga/Los Gatos hills (hosted by Kevin Scott, a Microsoft executive, and Reid Hoffman, co-founder of Linkedin) while Air Force 1 did a photo run over the Golden Gate Bridge departing from Moffett where Google has an exclusive private plane deal with (cough) NASA to use its runways. Or maybe an innocent reposition flight to SFO? I watched with my eyeballs AF1 fly over Palo Alto northbound less than 30 minutes after the Baylands' speech ended and the Westley event was happening. As the sun set I watched live on Flight Aware as a helicopter which had flown aerial patrol by the Baylands speech and around the 2 pre-announced fundraisers, too, finished circling a place near Gilroy and then did a joy ride up to downtown San Francisco and landed on a skyscraper by where there was a closed door event with many VIPs the next day.
Air Force 1 and Marine helos are for sale to the highest bidders. Lots of helo pads in downtown SF.
Big boys and girls fly. Never stuck in rush hour, not even in limos. SFPD will close streets from hotels to Moscone Center and to any other place the biggest VIPs will go, to empty them for the VIPs for this Potemkin Village show. Gridlock for the plebes.
